Titan Boys Roll, Girls Split

Because of a rescheduled game, the Titan basketball teams had contests on Friday and Saturday nights. On Friday night, the boys defeated Lake Braddock, 51-36, and the girls were also victorious, 42-38. On Saturday night, the boys beat Woodson, 48-43, and the girls lost, 52-46.

The Titan boys continued their winning ways against Lake Braddock by starting strong and never looking back. T. C. outscored Lake Braddock in every quarter. Senior center Billy Rowland led all scorers with 21 points, followed by his teammate, Ryan Yates with eight.

On Saturday night, the Titans faced their toughest competition of the young season. Woodson, who was expected to give the Titans a competitive game, was behind by double digits at the end of the first quarter: Titans, 18; Woodson, 8. The Cavaliers rallied in the second and third quarters, outscoring the Titans, 20-14. n the end, T. C. edged their Patriot District rival, 48-43. Yates led all scorers with 20, followed by Rowland with 11.

The Titan boys’ basketball team is now 7-1 overall, 4-0 in the Patriot District. The T. C. girls have a record of 3-7, ;1-3 in Patriot District play.
