Today, Neil H. MacBride, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, issued the following statement regarding the unanimous decision today by the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit to deny Zacarias Moussaoui’s petition for rehearing and rehearing en banc:

“Today’s decision by the Fourth Circuit affirmed its previous ruling that Zacarias Moussaoui knew what he was doing when he pled guilty to his role leading up to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. We’re pleased the court has upheld the conviction and life sentence of the man who admitted he trained and intended to fly a plane that would strike the White House.”
