On Monday night, the T. C. Williams High School basketball teams played South County. The boys won, 59-57 and the girls lost, 52-31.
The T. C. boys continued their winning ways in the Patriot District in a thriller at The Garden. In the first half, the Titans did not play well and South County’s Mohamed Ali-Cox blocked shots that otherwise would have gone in. After a halftime lecture from Coach Julian King, the Titans got more serious but shots were not falling for T. C. and Ali-Cox was continuing to be a shot blocking machine. Finally, the Titans outlasted the Stallions and got the hard-fought victory, 59-57. Their overall record is 9-1, 5-0 in the Patriot District. The Boys will face the Lee Lancers at Robert E. Lee High School on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 7:45 p.m.
The Titan girls continue to have a difficult season. They traveled to South County on Monday night and lost by 21 points, 52-31. Their overall record is now 3-8, 1-4 in Patriot District competition. The girls will host the Lancers at The Garden at 7 p.m. on Jan. 14.
