Chairman’s Column

Public Hearings
The Alexandria City School Board will hold FY2011 Budget Public Hearings and Work Sessions at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, and at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11. Peer Mediation
Twenty-eight ninth-grade students from the T.C Williams High School Minnie Howard Campus participated in an off-campus, full-day training session in Peer Mediation/Conflict Resolution on Jan. 22. The program, taught by former T.C. Williams teacher Barbara Finney and current resource teacher Michael Frazier is designed to encourage students to work through conflicts with other peers.  To date, the ninth-grade campus has successfully held more than 50 peer mediations.
