On Wednesday night, the T. C. Williams High School volleyball team opened their home season with a 3-0 win over the Jaguars of Falls Church High School: 25-22, 25-18 and 25-14.
The Titans’ taller, stronger front line proved too much for the Jaguars. T. C. sophomore Kate Whitmire towered over her opponents and consistently killed the ball at will. The first set was close with unforced errors on both sides of the net. T. C.’s size, depth and conditioning showed in the second and third sets, which the Titans won easily.
T. C.’s record is now 1-1. The Titans will travel to Hayfield on Sept. 7. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
