Were You There On Opening Night?

Wow, your review of Scapino was scathing!!You hated it! But you should tell the truth. You were not there on Opening Night. The opening night audience laughed, applauded noisily and raved about the show. However there were two previews nights before Opening Night, free for a mostly over 65 senior citizen crowd, always low key and not a big Ha ha sort a group. Were you the young guy  sitting in row 4 or so writing on a pad during the show? Thats very distracting for an actor.Actually it is down right RUDE. The actors saw you. Why don”t you try being more discreet. Also go to an Opening Night and PAY for your ticket. That’s what PROFESSIONALS do.

You obviously do not know much about Theater or Moliere’s style. He used what are called asides, commenting directly to the audience on purpose. 17th century humour was low class, by this I mean not just shtick, people laughed at actors being beaten with inflated pigs bladders. and fart jokes. Not having any pigs nearby, the modern version uses a sausage in the spirit of the original.Scapino  had a good run on Broadway and is a favorite with many. Its about being silly and its fluff. If you are going to try to review theater I suggest that before you do so get an education. Because your comments are  woefully ignorant. Women playing men and vice-versa have being going on for centuries. Its called nontraditional casting. But enough of this rant.

You lack credibility, and its a shame you choose to drag a good show through the mud because you can.Other reviews vary greatly with you.You are entitled to an opinion but dont lie.The Press has power. You have responsibility. And you have abused it. Remember this is Volunteer Comunity Theater. We do our best and work for  free. why dont you volunteer and learn from the experience.PS I painted the set.
