Ms. Weyant’s show is divided into three separate portfolios of artwork which offers great diversity of subject matter and should appeal to a wide range of viewers. Each piece of artwork has a story to tell, and remarks on some of the show cards enhance the viewers appreciation of the story. There is definitely something in this show for everyone to enjoy.

The first portfolio features Civil War Reenactment black/white and color photography called “Engaging the Enemy”.  These images were shot on location at some of the biggest reenactments of cavalry, artillery, and infantry held in this area. The photographs are displayed sequentially to show combat events that lead to a full battle. “I was so close to the battle lines that the ground was shaking from rifle fire and artillery cannons.”

The second portfolio includes stunning Wilderness Landscape Photography of some of the more unique environmental mountain regions on the east coast. These images are both in color and BW infrared, and some include artistic enhancements.

The final collection of artwork is Ceramic vessels where some feature wildlife drawings and sculptures on the pottery.  Ms. Weyant’s uses her photography of wild animals as inspiration for her drawn and sculptural decorations.  She aspires to make Fine Art Decorative ceramics that are also functional. Ms. Weyant has also included favorite Raku, and Horsehair pottery which feature highly artistic and aggressive glazing techniques. In collaboration with nationally renowned wood turner Alan Becker, Ms. Weyant has embellished his wooden vases with her paintings of wildlife and their habitat.
