COPS For Christmas

On Saturday, December 18, Alexandria COPS Officers played Santa Claus to nine Lynhaven and Hume Springs families. The officers, with assistance from the two civic associations, selected families in need who could use Christmas gifts and food for the holidays. The families have children between eight and 15 years of age. Using donations from the civic associations, the officers used the funds to buy gifts for the kids. Over 60 presents were bought and handed out. The families also received all the trimmings of a holiday dinner, including a case of water and soda thanks to the generosity of Giant Food LLC, who became a partner in this event.

“This day was a huge success and generated warm smiles from both the officers and the communities involved,” said participating Officer Nicholas Ruggiero. The other officers who participated were Officer Matthew Kramarik, Sgt. Jose Garcia and Capt. Dianne Gittins.
