T. C. Williams High School Athletic Director Bob McKeag announces the following weather-related winter sports schedule adjustments:
The regular season schedule is concluded in basketball and the district tournaments start next week after providing two days of practice before the first-round games are played at the Top Seed. The T.C. Williams boys will be seeded 7th and the girls 5th, so both teams will travel. If school is in session on Monday, Feb. 15, the first-round games will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the top seed. The boys will travel to West Potomac and the girls will travel to W.T. Woodson. Semi-finals will take place on Friday, Feb. 19, at the top seed; and the finals will be held at T.C. Williams on Saturday, Feb. 20. The seeding is based on the first round of district play only – our boys played West Springfield for the first game after the semester break and are seeded 7th.
Regional Wrestling is scheduled for Feb. 16 and 17. Feb. 16 is an all-day event, and Feb. 17 starts in the afternoon and runs mostly through the evening.
The Patriot District Indoor Track meet will not be run, and the athletes who made qualifying times or distances will advance to the Regional IT Meet on Saturday, Feb. 20, at George Mason University.
The Regional One-Act Play Competition was to be held this Saturday, Feb. 13, but the schools are not open over the weekend. The deadline is Feb. 27, and an announcement will be made when a date is decided.
