On Sunday, October 31, at approximately 1:20 am, the Alexandria Fire Department responded to calls for an apartment fire at 101 S. Whiting Street. Units arrived to find fire showing from an 11th floor apartment. Units from Alexandria, assisted by units from Arlington and Fairfax Counties were able to keep the fire contained to one apartment. There were no occupants at home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries to civilians or fire department personnel. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
