The Alexandria Police Department's Office of Strange and Occult Crimes, funded by a two year grant from the Federal Department of Homeland Security, is investigating a new cult that has grown up around the Sacandaga Totem, a piece of public art, installed at the corner of Fayette and King Streets.

Sheriff Announces Plan For JailTel

Alexandria Sheriff Dana Lawhorne announced a plan to turn unused jail cells into hotel rooms. "This plan will make efficient use of the structure while having the potential to raise significant revenue" said Lawhorne at a press conference called to announce the initiative.
