Alexandria Celebrates Its Living Legends

The 2012 Living Legends of Alexandria with Mayor Bill Euille, Congressman Jim Moran, Master of Ceremonies John Porter and director, Nina Tisara. Living Legends of Alexandria hosted its fifth annual Meet The Legends reception at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office on March  22.  Over 300 people were in attendance to honor the nominees and witness the induction of the "Class of 2012:"  Bob Calhoun, Al Grande, Harry "Bud" Hart, Wendy McGann John, William ":Bill" Kehoe, Allen Lomax, Jimmie McClellan, Pat Miller, Mike Oliver, Lillian Stanton Patterson, Joseph S. Shumard, the Steuerle Family and the team of Dorothy Turner and Gwen Menifee-Smith.

Portraits of the 2012 Legends are on exhibit in the Market Square lobby of Alexandria City Hall.  A second traveling exhibit will be at 1717 King Street Branch of BB&T Bank for the month of April.

Living Legends of Alexandria is an ongoing, not-for-profit project to identify, honor and chronicle the people making current history in Alexandria.
