T. C. Titans Win Parker-Gray Memorial Game

The T. C. Williams High School girls and boys basketball teams defeated Wakefield High School on Dec. 15 in the annual Parker-Gray memorial game. The T. C. girls won 31-27 in the first game, followed by the boys who won 56-48 to cap off the doubleheader.

Rowers Conclude Fall Season With Appreciation Dinner At Old Dominion Boat Club

The Old Dominion Boat Club Select Crew team wrapped up the Fall 2012 rowing season this past week with an appreciation dinner for rowers, coaches and parents. The dinner was held at the Old Dominion Boat Club in Old Town and hosted by members of ODBC, who sponsor the team every fall along with the Alexandria Crew Boosters.

Governor McDonnell And Co-Chairs Launch ‘Holiday Hoops Classic’ Food Drive

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and university presidents Ed Ayers, Ángel Cabrera, John Broderick and Teresa Sullivan today marked the official launch of the Governor’s Holiday Hoops Classic Food Drive to benefit Virginia food banks. The four university presidents from the schools competing in this year’s Holiday Hoops Classic enthusiastically agreed to join Governor McDonnell to co-chair the food drive. The non-profit Federation of Virginia Food Banks is the official Cause of the Classic, and together with co-chairs, encourages citizens and fans to support their favorite university by supporting their local food bank.

ODBC Rowers Finish Season Near The Top

The men and women of the Old Dominion Boat Club Select Crew team wrapped up the 2012 Fall rowing season this past weekend with appearances at two of the premier races in the area and the nation – the Head of the Occoquan Regatta just south of Washington, and the Head of the Hooch Regatta in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
