Reingold, Inc., a growing, full-service communications and marketing firm with a 27-year track record of crafting campaigns for causes that matter, held a community open house and ribbon cutting Wednesday at its new Del Ray headquarters. Mayor William D. Euille, who has a strong commitment to promoting local business development and community engagement in Alexandria, cut the ribbon and welcomed Reingold to the neighborhood.

Despite one of the nation’s worst recessions, Reingold has managed to more than double in size—adding more than 40 employees—during the past three years. With the growth came the realization that the company’s original headquarters in Northwest Washington, D.C. could no longer house its growing staff. Reingold bought and renovated a deteriorating, industrial building at the corner of Leslie and East Monroe Avenues that once housed a printers’ association, and has redesigned it to meet client and staff needs.

“We completely gutted three floors to create spaces for creative collaboration, client meetings, social events and staff breaks, along with some traditional offices too,” said Reingold Partner and Creative Director Joseph Ney. “We’re also looking forward to enjoying our new rooftop terrace.”

Features of the new space include: An executive conference room that seats up to 45 people, wired for video conferencing and hosting client webcasts

Four video editing bays for the company’s growing video production team “Beyond function, comfort and style, we aimed to reduce our carbon footprint,” said Reingold Partner Jack Benson. “Energy-efficient windows, new insulation and solar tubes will reduce our energy consumption, and our commuters will have easy access to bike racks and Metro so they don’t have to drive to work.”

The new location lends proximity to federal government agencies, local government agencies, universities and nonprofits of the Washington metropolitan area; and dozens of large associations based in and around Alexandria. An additional plus for the neighborhood and staff are the dozens of retail stores, restaurants and recreational spaces in an area undergoing rapid revitalization.
