According to the Charm Index, Alexandria ranked as the seventh most charming small city in the U.S. We looked at cities with populations between 75,000 and 200,000 and then ranked each city by its overall charm score.

Old Town Alexandria received very high Charm ratings because of a high concentration of local businesses that include antique stores, galleries, and other shops.
