St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School won the annual Alexandria City Swim and Dive Championship for the third consecutive year on Nov. 28, defeating T. C. Williams and Bishop Ireton. The Saints retain the coveted Mayor’s Trophy for another year.

Until two years ago, the Bishop Ireton Cardinals dominated the All-City Championship, winning the overall title and trophy for 13 successive years. The Saints edged out Bishop Ireton by one point in the 2015 championship and in 2016, SSSAS won by 48 points.

In this year’s tri-school championship, the Saints won by 89 points with a combined score of 416 points under third-year head coach Evan Stiles. The T. C. Williams Titans finished in second place with 327 points, and Bishop Ireton was third overall with 268 points.

The SSSAS women’s squad won top honors for the first time in recent history. The Ireton women took first place in the tri-school championship the previous five years. The Saints finished a distant second behind the Cardinal women last year and the T. C. women were third. This year the Saints captured first place with a 55-point advantage over the T. C. Titans in second place.

The results follow for each squad from this year’s All-City Championship.
