City Of Alexandria Hosts Replicas Of China’s “Terracotta Warriors” In Market Square

The City of Alexandria is hosting two replicas of the famous “Terracotta Warriors” in Market Square (301 King St.), to celebrate the exhibition “Terracotta Army: Legacy of the First Emperor of China,” at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.

Alexandria Library Participates In Global Reading Challenge

Billionaire investor and Shark Tank personality Mark Cuban announced his sponsorship of the inaugural Beanstack Winter Reading Challenge in support of local libraries. Cuban has challenged close to 100 libraries all over the country and South Korea, including Alexandria Library, to meet a collective goal of reading at least 1.3 million minutes and 55,000 books during the month of January.

Cameras & Clay Opens At Torpedo Factory Artists @ Mosaic

Cameras & Clay, the second exhibition at Torpedo Factory Artists @ Mosaic in Fairfax, opened on Wednesday, Dec. 13. Featuring the work of 34 photographers and clay artists, including participants from Multiple Exposures Gallery and Scope Gallery, Cameras & Clay will be on display until Jan. 21. An opening reception is on Saturday, Dec. 16 (5-8 p.m.).
