Police Investigate Homicide; Suspect Charged

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, in the 200 block of N. Howard Street.

At approximately 6:40 p.m., police were dispatched for welfare call at a residence. Upon arriving, officers located June Seay, a 55-year-old City resident. She was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The male suspect, a 55-year-old City resident, is in police custody at an area hospital with self-inflicted injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition. He has been charged with Homicide in the death of Ms. Seay. The individuals knew each other.

This is the fifth homicide in Alexandria this year.
