The Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority will open its RAD (Rental Assistance Demonstration Project, formerly “public housing”) waitlist on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.  The list closes again on Monday, July 23, 2018 at midnight. It is NOT necessary to be a Fairfax County resident to submit an application.

Registration is through an online portal where a pre-application for housing is available. Information about this opportunity and the application process is available online in multiple languages. Fairfax County public libraries will have computers and in-person assistance available for those who wish to apply. No matter when an application is submitted during the two-week open period, there is an equal opportunity to be placed on the waitlist.

Please note that before beginning the pre-application process, applicants will need a valid e-mail address and the following information for the head of household and co-head of household: complete name, relationship to the head of the household, date of birth, and amount of income from all sources.

More information about the process for applying for Fairfax County’s RAD (formerly “public housing”) waitlist, and the online portal for the pre-application, is available at https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/housing/waitlist.
