Inspired by Thomas Jefferson's travels in Europe, the TJ Fellowship provides the Alexandria Library an opportunity to learn from international counterparts throughout Europe during September. Two Alexandria Library staff members – Diana Price, Central Youth Services Manager and Katie Dow, Central Adult Services Manager– will explore best practices and the programs and services offered.

Funded by a generous grant, the TJ Fellowship will allow our staff to connect with European librarians in an exchange of culture, experiences and ideas. As a result, the librarians will return with inspiration to launch new programs and services in Alexandria. During this European trip, the staff will visit several European libraries including Cologne Library, Hamburg Libraries, and Copenhagen Library.

You can find the most up-to-date news on our European library adventure by searching for the hashtag #RoadTripLibrarians on our social media pages @alexlibraryva (TwitterFacebook and Instagram). We will also be posting blog content from our Europrean trip at https://tjfellowship.wordpress.com/. For more information about the TJ Fellowship, click here.
