Catholic Charities with the Diocese of Arlington is hosting an Opioid Crisis conference, “Seeking Hope and Healing in the Opioid Crisis,” on Saturday, Sept. 29. The opioid crisis has severely impacted parishioners and neighbors within the Diocese of Arlington where opioid overdose deaths have increased threefold, and statewide where opioid and heroin overdoses deaths jumped to almost 200% in six years.

Join Bishop Michael Burbidge and Catholic Charities with the Diocese of Arlington as we explore how the diocese and the community can respond to this crisis. “Seeking Hope and Healing in the Opioid Crisis,” is a free daylong conference, Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Mass is available at 9 a.m,), at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Hwy, Alexandria, VA. Dr. Michael Horne, Catholic Charities psychologist, will give a keynote address and Bishop Burbidge will lead a prayer service.
