The Alexandria Sportsman’s Club honored eight outstanding local student-athletes at their monthly meeting on Nov. 14.

The guest speaker at ASC’s event was former Washington Redskins running back Ricky Ervins who played for Joe Gibbs on the 1991 Super Bowl championship team. Ervins spoke about his life in the NFL and how hard work on and off the field enable the success of all student-athletes. Ervins presented the "Athletes of the Month" awards to the Alexandria high school and youth student-athletes selected for their exceptional work on the field and in the classroom.
