Detectives from Washington, DC’s Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, in the Unit Block of 57th Place, Southeast.

At approximately 11:51 p.m., members of MPD’s Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult female, inside of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as 19 year-old Nya Howard-Reynolds, of Alexandria, VA.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
