OCA Declines To Files Charges Against Elderly Man

Commonwealth's Attorney Bryan Porter announced that he will not seek a grand jury indictment against an elderly man in relation to an unintended death investigation. The incident that resulted in the death occurred on Oct. 24, 2016, at the Sunrise of Alexandria Senior Living facility located on Duke Street in the City.

After five back-to-back days of competition in Kansas City, Missouri, T. C. Williams High School senior and Alexandria native Troy Isley emerged victorious at the U.S.A. Boxing National Championship last Saturday. Isley was crowned National Champion and ranked US #1 in the 165-pound weight class. Isley will represent Team USA in upcoming international competitions.

City Resident Indicted For Reckless Driving In Vehicular Death Case

On, Dec. 12, the Grand Jury for the City of Alexandria returned an indictment related to the death of Gertrude Klackner, a 90 year-old City resident. Sherri L. Sybert, a 51 year-old Alexandria resident, was charged with Reckless Driving-Misdemeanor. This charge arose from a collision that occurred on Oct. 3, in the 300 block of Yoakum Parkway.
