Ernst & Young sponsors the eighth annual love poetry event that showcases Higher Achievement scholars’ winning, original poetry written by local middle school students and inspired by the theme of love.

Registration is taking place now for an eight-week session that begins March 18, at Northern Virginia Community College. Courses in the eight-week session cover the same material and award the same credits as semester-long classes.

The Alexandria Fund for Human Services awards funding through a competitive process to organizations providing human services to Alexandria residents. The AFHS allows the City to support human service programs vital to meeting the needs of our community with broadly defined service priorities for young children, youth, immigrants, the elderly and persons with disabilities.

Celebrate the City of Alexandria's Irish heritage with a variety of activities including an Antique Car Show and Dog Show prior to the parade. The parade will take place on Saturday March 2, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Old Town.

The Alexandria-Caen Sister City Committee is accepting applications from college students for a summer internship in Caen, France—one of Alexandria’s four sister cities. The intern will spend the month of July working as a tour guide in the Caen City Hall.

Families are invited to the 2013 Summer Camp Fair sponsored by the PTA Council of Alexandria. The 2013 Summer Camp Fair is Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria of TC Williams High School, at 3330 King Street, Alexandria, 22302. Admission and parking are free. Pizza will be available for purchase. Printed directories featuring all camps in attendance, and several others, will be available.
