The Society to Preserve & Enhance the City's Industrial Operations (SPECIOUS) issued its third annual report today calling for increased efforts among the citizens of Alexandria to attract and welcome industry back to the City.

The Alexandria Police Department's Office of Strange and Occult Crimes, funded by a two year grant from the Federal Department of Homeland Security, is investigating a new cult that has grown up around the Sacandaga Totem, a piece of public art, installed at the corner of Fayette and King Streets.

Alexandria Sheriff Dana Lawhorne announced a plan to turn unused jail cells into hotel rooms. "This plan will make efficient use of the structure while having the potential to raise significant revenue" said Lawhorne at a press conference called to announce the initiative.
