Alexandria Electoral Board Elects New Officers

At a special meeting today, the Alexandria Electoral Board elected Donald E. Ledwig as Secretary, Peter Newbould as Chairman, and newly appointed Bruce A. Brown as Vice-Chairman.

Murray Defeats Berry In Republican Primary

Republicans To Hold Primary In 8th Congressional District

On June 8, Republicans will hold a primary election in Virginia’s 8th Congressional District to determine whether Matthew B. Berry or J. Patrick Murray will face incumbent Democratic Congressman Jim Moran in November. Moran has no Democratic challenger.

Alexandria Democrats Get New Leadership

(Tuesday) January 5, 2010

Monday night marked the beginning of a new era for the Alexandria Democratic Party. Clark Mercer, a 30-year-old City native was elected unanimously as the chair of the Alexandria Democratic Committee. Julie Jakopic, who ran two successful campaigns for City Councilman Rob Krupicka and advised Delegate Charniele Herring’s campaign, was elected Deputy Chair for Finance and Administration. The election was held at the auditorium of the T. C. Williams High School Minnie Howard campus.
