AG Herring Leads Opposition To Trump’s Latest Attack On Legal Immigration

Attorney General Mark R. Herring is leading a coalition of attorneys general and attorneys general-elect opposing President Trump’s latest effort to attack, demonize, and marginalize immigrants in Virginia and around the country. The Administration’s proposed overhaul of certain immigration laws would force legal immigrants to risk their immigration status in order to access healthcare, housing assistance, and other programs.

Governor Announces Third Round Of Mixed-Delivery Preschool Grants

Governor Ralph Northam yesterday announced that the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation, in consultation with the Virginia Department of Education, will award six grants to local communities that have proposed innovative approaches to expand access to high-quality preschool for at-risk children through partnerships with community-based early childhood programs. ACT for Alexandria Early Care and Education Workgroup was one of the organizations selected to receive a grant in 2019.
