Regarding the recent news of the report/study done by the accounting firm of Robinson, Farmer, Cox, Associates for ACPS, isn't it amazing how superintendent Sherman completely attempts to divert attention from his responsibility as Superintendent and accept full blame for the report and tries to place the blame on upper management employees who have either resigned or will be gone.

An Appointed School Board?
To the editor:
It has been 9 days since the release of an independent accountant’s report on the Alexandria City Public Schools Capital Improvement Program processes from July 1, 2010 through October 31, 2011. We have read and heard many public expressions of outrage, calls for the resignations of school officials, and demands for holding ACPS and the elected school board accountable for what the report called “a dysfunctional environment in relation to CIP related activities.”
It’s Not An Audit
To The Editor:

On Pro-Life Tactics
For pro-life sponsors to go as far as to introduce a bill requiring women to open their legs, have a eight to ten inch wand pushed inside of them, and examine the fetus on the screen before having an abortion, (regardless as to whether they were raped for not) is completely unnerving.

Supply Before Demand?
To The Editor:
As a West Street resident and a parent, I am amazed that Alexandria’s leaders – both on the School Board and the City Council – are spending nearly $45 million dollars and probably more to come in taxpayer money for a newer and bigger Jefferson-Houston School when it looks to be just as empty as before.

A Dangerous Trend
Opinion: Michael Gryboski
On a cold day with a white overcast sky I journeyed down King Street and went to Bradlee Shopping Center. Parking in the back lot, I ventured to a store that was the latest victim in a technological trend.
