Governor Issues Executive Order To Address Virginia’s Unmet Housing Needs

Governor Ralph Northam today signed Executive Order Twenty Five that establishes new state housing policy priorities designed to enhance the quality, availability and affordability of housing in the Commonwealth. This Executive Order will focus on developing housing policies and actions that increase the supply of permanent supportive housing, including programs to reduce homelessness and housing instability for vulnerable populations.

Airports Authority Board Of Directors Sets Dulles Toll Road Rates For 2019

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors voted Wednesday to increase rates on the Dulles Toll Road, beginning in January 2019, from the current $2.50 to $3.25 at the main toll plaza, and from $1.00 to $1.50 on ramps.

King Street-Old Town Metrorail Station Access Improvement Project Update: Lot Scheduled To Close November 18

November 13, 2018

Major work on the King Street-Old Town Metrorail Station Access Improvement Project has been moved to mid-November. Preliminary construction including the construction of interim bus bays began in August. The major construction activities initially scheduled to start on Sept. 9, including the closure of the bus loop and Kiss & Ride and initiating bus service to the relocated bus bays, are now slated to begin on Nov. 18.

Alice Morgan Dies At 75

Alice Morgan, a long-time resident of Alexandria, died on Nov. 4. Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 3500 19th Street S, Arlington, VA with service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Ivy Hill at 2 p.m.
