City Of Alexandria Announces Updates On Potomac Yard Metro Station Entrances

The new Potomac Yard Metrorail Station continues to move forward, with recent developments regarding the station’s three entrances. On Nov. 13, the state announced $50 million of funding for a new south entrance for the station, based on the projected increase in ridership associated with the recently announced plans for a new Amazon corporate headquarters and Virginia Tech Innovation Campus in National Landing.

Metro Yellow Line Shutdown November 26 – December 9

November 19, 2018

Immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Metro will begin a continuous 14-day capital project (10 commuting days) on the Yellow Line bridge over the Potomac River beginning Monday, Nov. 26 through Sunday, Dec. 9. There will be no Yellow Line train service during this time; use Blue Line instead for travel between Virginia and DC.

One-Step Biometric Boarding Launched By JetBlue At Washington Reagan National Airport

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, in partnership with JetBlue, launched a one-step biometric boarding process at Reagan National Airport using its newly developed veriScanTM system. The veriScan system employs facial-recognition technology to streamline passenger verification and boarding on outbound international flights, allowing passengers to board seamlessly without presenting a passport or boarding pass.

Airports Authority Board Of Directors Sets Dulles Toll Road Rates For 2019

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors voted Wednesday to increase rates on the Dulles Toll Road, beginning in January 2019, from the current $2.50 to $3.25 at the main toll plaza, and from $1.00 to $1.50 on ramps.
