C. Charles Caputo And Katherine K. Hanley Join Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board Of Directors

Two new appointees have joined the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors.

The Honorable C. Charles “Chuck” Caputo is president of the Inova Fair Oaks Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary and sits on the Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation Board. He is a former member of the Virginia House of Delegates.

He was a telecommunications engineer with the federal government, serving as a member of the Senior Executive Service, and he retired from the Defense Information Systems Agency. Caputo has held positions on the Fairfax Area Disability Services Board, the Brain Foundation Board, the Fairfax County Election Process Improvement Commission and the Best Buddies of Northern Virginia Board. In addition, he has served on the Fairfax County Environmental Quality Advisory Council, the Northern Virginia Community College Board of Trustees, the Fairfax County School Board, the Association of Community Colleges Board and the Council for the Arts of Herndon.

He is a graduate of the City College of New York with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, and he earned a master’s degree in systems administration from George Washington University. Caputo lives in Herndon, Virginia, and is an appointee of the governor of Virginia.

The Honorable Katherine K. Hanley is former Secretary of the Commonwealth of Virginia, former chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, former Providence District Supervisor and former member of the Fairfax County School Board. She served on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority Board of Directors, the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, the regional Transportation Planning Board, the Metropolitan Washington Air Quality Committee, and was appointed the Northern Virginia District representative on the Commonwealth Transportation Planning Board. She also served as president of the Virginia Association of Counties and the Virginia Municipal League.

Currently, Hanley serves on the board of directors for Inova Health System, the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board, the Arts Council of Fairfax County, HomeAid Northern Virginia, Cornerstones and Voices for Virginia’s Children.   Hanley earned bachelor’s degrees in French civilization and secondary education from the University of Missouri, and a master’s degree in teaching from Harvard University. She is a resident of Reston, Virginia, and is an appointee of the governor of Virginia.
