Christ Church Youth Help Low Income Alexandria Families With Christmas

Following a 10 a.m. church service on Nov. 16, Christ Church Alexandria youth in Grades 6-12 take part in the long-standing tradition of going shopping for the church’s Christ Child Project. The group will meet and travel together to purchase gifts for children who need a smile on Christmas morning.

The Christ Child Project Christmas Shop helps low income families of Alexandria provide Christmas gifts for their children. Families are chosen and registered with the help of Alexandria Social Services, Head Start, the Public Housing Community, and other programs which serve low income families in the city.

The Christ Child Project Christmas Shop is volunteer run. The volunteers enjoy helping others succeed at providing a bountiful Christmas for their family, as well as working with and getting to know neighbors and fellow parishioners.
