Thousands of children and their families formed a line that wrapped around the Charles Houston Recreation Center yesterday for the Annual Santa's Winter Wonderland toy distribution.  Alexandria Redevelopment & Housing Authority and its partners with Marine Toys for Tots,  Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, Alexandria City Public Schools and an impressive number of community collaborators come together to transform a gymnasium into a Winter Wonderland that just happens to resemble buildings of Alexandria...pure coincidence or holiday magic, who knows??!

Each child received up to three toys (including a stuffed animal), snack bag and a gift bag filled with additional games and festive trinkets. They were greeted by the dedicated elves, The Grinch and of course the star of this production, Santa Claus, himself! Hundreds of brave children took pictures with Santa Claus while others were delightfully overwhelmed by the sheer beauty and ambiance of the Wonderland.

Santa, with the help of ARHA, Marine Toys for Tots, RPCA, ACPS and the impressive number of Santa's helpers in the Alexandria Police & Fire Department, made the 5th Annual Santa's Winter Wonderland a smashing success!
