Earlier this summer, I visited Seattle to attend the annual Young Elected Officials Convening, where I met other amazing elected leaders, engaged in policy discussions, learned how we can better serve our constituents, and talked about how we can lead in our various roles. I have attended the convening each summer for the past five summers and the professional development and policy discussions always get me charged up for my job as your city councilman.

Attorney General Mark R. Herring issued the following statement on his decision not to appeal or seek a stay of the three-judge panel’s decision in Bethune-Hill v. Virginia State Board of Elections finding that 12 House of Delegates districts are unconstitutional racial gerrymanders that “sorted voters into districts based on the color of their skin.”

Alexandria Primary Absentee Voting Up 114% From 2015

Virginia will hold Democratic and Republican Primary Elections tomorrow. In Alexandria, absentee voting is up 114% from the 2015 Primary Election: to date, Alexandria voters have cast 2557 absentee ballots while in 2015 they cast 1196 absentee ballots.
